Attendance and Tardies
It is very important that you attend class and that you stay in class.
If you are not here IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to check the website for what you missed when you are away.
Only one person may be out of the room at a time. There is a sign in/ out sheet near the door. You you can leave class to go to the bathroom or be tardy up to 5 times a semester before there is negative impact on your participation grade.
Becuase practice and participation are vital to your success, Presence is a grade in Campus. You will begin with 10 points and lose 1 point for each unexcused absence and for leaving the room or tardies after the 5 you begin with. You will not lose any points for excused absences but you are responsable for knowing the material you missed.
Make-up work for excused absences:
Time allowed to make up work is twice the number of classes or days missed (two days allowed for make-up work for each day of absence); however, an extension of this time limit will be allowed when appropriate. Students who complete makeup work within the required timeline will receive full academic credit earned for the makeup work.
Late Work Policy: Late work will automatically be marked down by 10 percent every time class meets and the assignment is not turned in. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain the assignments, notes & any other pertinent information that is missed during an absence.
Course Grading Scale: A = 90-100%, B = 80-89%, C = 70-79%, D = 60-69%, F = 59% and below
Academic Integrity/Plagiarism: Conifer High School actively encourages students to incorporate the Lobo Honor Code in every aspect of their daily lives. The honor code, rooted in the virtues of Honesty, Integrity, Respect, and Responsibility, is the core of Lobo pride. Occasionally, this trust is violated when academic misconduct occurs, either inadvertently or deliberately.
